"Waypoints" in the history of a coaster

The AVENTURA is the second eldest sailing German coaster and the onliest coaster from the thirties years of the last century.

1938:  Laying down at shipyard Heinrich Brand Schiffswerft in Oldenburg / Hunte

The AVENTURA, construction number 67, is the second of 6 sisterships, type "River-Sea-Ship"

1939: Commission  of the ship, first owner: Ferdinand Raap, Krautsand

 

 July 27,1940: Requisition by  the German Armed Forces for the planned but not realised operation "Seelöwe“.
The ship is renamed in LAT 5, from 1942 in H 464 and from November 1942 in DC5.

July 8, 1945: Ferdinand Raap get back his ship.

Until November 1992: The AVENTURA is sailing as cargo-ship on North- and Baltic Sea and also the river Rhine.

November 1992: Sale to  Hans J. Pawils/ Margarete Weißenstein

Captain Hans J. Pawils transfers the AVENTURA from Finkenwerder near Hamburg to Mainz on  the river Rhine.

 In Finkenwerder: conclusion of the sales contract
  

November 18, 1992: AVENTURA  goes alongside of the shipyard "Kayser" in Ginsheim-Gustavsburg near Mainz. Conversion in a cabinship is beginning.

1992 – 1996: Rebuilding from cargoship to sea-going cabinship with certificate for the river Rhine.

1996: Foundation of the company "AVENTURA charter-tours H.J.Pawils und M.Weißenstein OHG"
